Michigan football vs. Washington kickoff time, tv channel set for Week 8

U-M and U-W have split two matchups the past two seasons, though there's no doubt U-M has the upperhand thanks to a 34-13 national championship win.

For the third time in seven games in the 2025 season, Michigan football kickoff will kickoff in its classic noon slot.

The No. 15 Wolverines (4-1, 2-0 Big Ten) will face Washington (4-1, 1-1 Big Ten) as part of Fox Big Noon Kickoff, when the two meet on Saturday, Oct. 18 at Michigan Stadium, the Big Ten announced. It will be U-M's second time on Fox in three weeks (Wisconsin in Week 5 was the same slot).

Michigan Wolverines head coach Sherrone Moore walks out of the locker room during pregame warmups against the Washington Huskies at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium, Oct. 5, 2024 in Seattle.

This is a tough ask for the Huskies, to be sure, not just having to play U-M on the road but doing so when their body clock will feel like it is 9 a.m.

The Wolverines are undefeated in games that kickoff before 3:30 this year, going a perfect 3-0 to start the season. It began with a 63-3 beatdown over Central Michigan, continued with a 30-27 road win over Nebraska in the mid-afternoon slot the following week, then on the heels of a bye most recently it was a 24-10 homecoming victory over Wisconsin.

That record will not be in jeopardy since U-M's upcoming game against USC will be a 4:30 local kickoff in Los Angeles, which is 7:30 p.m. on the east coast.

Michigan and Washington have split their two matchups the past two seasons, though there's no doubt U-M has the upperhand in those. U-M topped the Huskies 34-13 in the 2024 national championship game in Houston, before Washington got a modicum of revenge with a 27-17 victory in Seattle in Oct. 2024 to snap Michigan's 27-game conference win streak.
