Here are the players who won't suit up for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the team's Week 5 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1) will be without one of their best defenders Monday night against the Kansas City Chiefs (2-2).
Ahead of kickoff, the Jaguars announced that defensive end Travon Walker will be deemed inactive tonight alongside the other Jax players who won't suit up tonight.
Walker is a scratch after sustaining a wrist injury that required surgery after the team's win over the San Francisco 49ers last weekend. Walker had surgery on his left wrist early last week and practiced limited on Saturday after missing the previous two days of work.
Walker's status heading into Monday night was thought to be "day-to-day," according to head coach Liam Coen. On Saturday, Coen said the team would go down to the wire regarding whether he would tough it out or not.
“We're going to go right down to the wire with it. We will. I mean, it's just as much as he can keep getting the swelling and all that stuff. It's just a matter of that. So, I trust that if he says he can go, then we'll go," Coen said.
Walker was seen in a brace on the left wrist during the team's open portion of practice Saturday.
Walker's presence will be missed. The fourth-year defensive end has two sacks this year and has a significant number of pressures this season.
In good news, the Jaguars will get back receiver Dyami Brown, who missed last week's win against the 49ers due to a shoulder ailment.
