The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, through five weeks, sit nicely at 4-1 as one of the premier teams in the NFC, and they have Baker Mayfield to thank.
With No. 6 playing some of the best football of his career, the offense has been flying, and against the Seattle Seahawks, it was another vintage game-winning drive from Baker, making it four on the year.
Every one of Tampa Bay's wins has come from Mayfield leading his team down the field to take the lead as time expires or a field goal to win, as was the case against the Seahawks in a 38-35 win.
For CBS Sports' John Breech, he gave Tampa Bay a "B" grade, while offering quite the compliment to Baker.
“Baker Mayfield might be the most clutch QB in the NFL right now,” Breech writes. “For the fourth time this season, Mayfield led the Bucs to a wild win and this might have been his most impressive performance yet. Good teams find a way to win close games and the Buccaneers have been doing that pretty much every week.”

"Blood pressure" Bucs walking a fine line
Winning close games is good for your team's mentality, and when the playoffs roll around, you have the confidence you can go the distance.
But it isn't a sustainable way to live. Yes, the Kansas City Chiefs last season were the exception as they often are, and the Buccaneers appear to be the NFL's close game kings in 2025.
However, we know how fickle the NFL can be and the small margins that can turn a win into a loss and vice versa, so Tampa Bay would ideally want a little more breathing room in the fourth quarter.
Still, when you are winning, there isn't much to complain about, except for Tampa Bay fans who have to endure the high blood pressure when watching Mayfield and Co. do their thing.
