We've had an action-packed week of high school and collegiate sports here in the Four States. Check out our top 5 plays of the week featuring Carl Junction, Webb City, Carthage and MSSU below!

JOPLIN, MO. — High school and collegiate sports are heating up in the four states, and we’ve got you covered with our top five plays from the past week of local action.

Play #5: Carl Junction’s Nolan Couck (Solo goal against Hillcrest, finished with 5 goals) —

Carl Junction’s Nolan Couck had himself a day against the Hillcrest Hornets, netting five of the Bulldogs six goals in a 6-0 win.

Play #4: Webb City’s Slade Hurd (Interception in end zone against Republic) —

The Republic Tigers were threatening in the red zone when Webb City’s Slade Hurd showcased his athleticism, extending his body mid-air to haul in an interception in the end zone to save what likely would have resulted in a Republic touchdown.

Play #3: Carthage’s Emmy Stark (Diving catch in the infield) —

Taking on Carl Junction, Carthage Softball’s Emmy Stark put her body on the line to make an incredible diving catch in the infield that saved what could have been a Bulldogs run.

Play #2: Carl Junction’s Jojo Ballard (Chase-down strip tackle on one-yard line to prevent Seneca TD) —

Seneca QB Brodie Probert appeared to have a breakaway 80-yard touchdown run, but Carl Junction’s Jojo Ballard turned on the jets to hawk him down and pull off a strip tackle on the one-yard line, punching the ball out of Probert’s hands inches before he crossed the goal line to prevent the touchdown. The ball rolled out the back of the end zone and was ruled a touchback, giving Carl Junction possession.

Play #1: Missouri Southern’s Isaiah Padello (Toe-tapping touchdown before halftime) —

Our top play of the week goes to Missouri Southern wide receiver Isaiah Padello, who made an incredible toe-tapping touchdown in the corner of the end zone against Fort Hays State. The catch itself was spectacular, but the timing was even better. Padello’s TD grab tied things up for Southern as time expired in the first half.
