North Country Ford Key Athlete of the Week: James Clemens High’s MJ Gideon

MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) — This week’s North Country Ford Key Athlete of the Week comes from James Clemens High School.

Junior running back MJ Gideon has played a key role for the James Clemens Jets. Head Coach Juan Johnson had lots of praise for his RB after he was picked to be Key Athlete of the Week.

“He’s a great young man, very hard working,” Johnson said. “He’s a kid that has the physical tools to do things, but just from a mental standpoint, very high-level, high IQ. Obviously, his dad’s background in football, and being around it all of his life, he’s done a tremendous job from day one, the time I got here.”

“I want to win out the rest of the year and win a playoff game,” Gideon said. “That’s my expectation, that’s what I expect.”

Gideon and the Jets will take on the Sparkman Senators at home on Friday.
