SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Angelo State soccer team celebrated a third-straight Lone Star Conference win and the first home victory of the season with a 2-0 shutout against West Texas A&M Saturday at the LeGrand Soccer Complex.
Sanai Stewart had both goals, one in each half.
ASU’s Mel Martinez was selected as the LSC Goalie of the Week for the second time this season. She has recorded 37 saves and is allowing an average of 0.72 goals per contest.
The Rambelles improved to 4-2-4 overall and 3-1-2 in the LSC.
ASU will try to push its win streak to four matches when the Belles host St. Mary’s at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11.
