Inter Milan have reportedly identified Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu as a potential long-term replacement for Yann Sommer.

According to Sky Sports Deutschland via FCInterNews, the German star has emerged as a viable target for the Nerazzurri.

Sommer’s departure at the end of the season has become a near-certainty.

Indeed, the 36-year-old has entered the final year of his contract at San Siro, with the club unwilling to offer him a new deal.

Therefore, Yann Sommer will likely pack his bags next summer.

With Sommer on his way out, Inter are scouring the market for a new goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, Josep Martinez has leapfrogged the Swiss veteran in the pecking order.

However, Cristian Chivu’s men are on the lookout for market opportunities.

Atubolu could be an exciting option for Inter, considering he is among Germany’s most highly rated talents.

Furthermore, there’s a termination clause in the 23-year-old’s contract at Freiburg.

Known for his penalty-saving prowess, Atubolu has already earned plenty of interest in the Bundesliga.

Indeed, Eintracht Frankfurt have reportedly set their sights on the talented shot-stopper.
