There are few players quite like former Chelsea and Atlético de Madrid striker Diego Costa.
The fierce frontman turns 37 today, making it the perfect moment to look back on a career that struck fear into defenders across England and Spain.
Costa’s European journey began in the early 2000s in Portugal before he joined Atlético Madrid for a nominal fee in 2007. After several loan spells, he finally found his home at Atleti, until Chelsea came calling in 2014.
He went on to make 120 appearances, score 59 goals, provide 21 assists and lift two Premier League titles as well as a League Cup before returning to Atlético in 2018 for another three years.
