FC Barcelona issued a statement on Tuesday regarding Camp Nou, specifically about the upcoming La Liga match against Girona.
Barcelona's return to the Spotify Camp Nou will have to wait a bit longer. The Catalan club has just announced that the match against Girona, scheduled for the next La Liga matchday (October 18), will be played at the Montjuic Stadium.
"FC Barcelona announces that the match corresponding to LaLiga's 9th matchday, against Girona FC, which will take place on Saturday, October 18 at 4:15 p.m., will be played at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. The club continues to work to obtain the necessary administrative authorizations for the opening of the Spotify Camp Nou and remains in constant contact with Barcelona City Hall in order to carry out the required inspections in the coming days. In this context, although the first occupancy license for phase 1A (Main Stand and Goal) – which would allow up to 27,000 spectators – is expected soon, FC Barcelona will aim to return to Spotify Camp Nou once the license for phase 1B (Main Stand, Goal, and Lateral), which will increase capacity to 45,000 spectators, is obtained." the statement reads.
