In a recent segment of the Here We Go podcast, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that Arsenal are keeping tabs on Real Madrid youngster Victor Valdepenas. Romano said,
“Who can be the next talent playing at Arsenal? Look, I have one name.
“It is a talent that Arsenal have been monitoring for a few months now and is a player they keep observing. It’s not going to be easy at all because he’s a Real Madrid player, but the name is Victor Valdepenas, also called Valde is considered an important talent, a very young player from Real Madrid ya sector, centre-back, Spanish talented Arsenal have been monitoring him for some time.
“So, he’s one of the players in the rather at Arsenal. Again, he’s a Real Madrid player and we know very well how difficult is to sign players from Real Madrid because all the players want to stay at Real Madrid and consider that as the best project possible.
“So it’s not easy but for sure Arsenal have been tracking and monitoring this boy.”
Valdepenas’ Impressive Rise In Spanish Football
Valdepenas has come through the youth ranks of Real Madrid but is still waiting to make his first senior appearance for them. The 18-year-old has played in 18 matches for Real Madrid Castilla so far, scoring one goal in all competitions.
The Spanish centre-back is among the best young defenders in his homeland. Therefore, it is no surprise that Arsenal are hoping to get a deal done for him next year.

Arsenal Are Keeping Tabs On Valdepenas: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Valdepenas is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when needed on the defensive end of the field.
The Spanish whizkid is primarily a central defender but can also fill in as a left-back if asked to do so. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in English football.
Valdepenas would no doubt improve the quality of Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s defence in the long run. His current contract at Real Madrid will expire in the summer of 2029, so the Gunners would have to make a big offer if they want to lure him to the Emirates Stadium next year.
At 18, Valdepenas is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future. Therefore, Arteta would do well to sign him.
