After Week 6, here are the remaining opponents ranked from easiest to toughest before Texas A&M hosts Florida on Saturday night.
Texas A&M is increasingly looking like a legitimate SEC contender as the season progresses and might be favored in each of its remaining games.
It's challenging to go undefeated in today’s college football landscape, and A&M will likely drop a matchup at some point. But so much of the playoff conversation hinges on the eyeball test. As long as the Aggies avoid getting blown out in any of their remaining contests, they’ll maintain a strong chance to reach the College Football Playoff, even with one or two losses.
The thing about the SEC is that anyone can beat anyone on any given Saturday. Ole Miss, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas A&M appear to be the most formidable teams, with Alabama, Missouri, and Oklahoma not far behind. I believe it’s going to come down to the final week of the regular season to determine which programs will battle for the SEC title. Based on current schedules, A&M has one of the clearest pathways to the championship game, with only two ranked opponents among their final seven matchups.
A&M has two key areas to clean up, and when they face Florida on Saturday, we’ll see whether they’ve managed to reduce costly penalties while becoming more efficient in the passing game. The defense has kept them competitive in the last two outings, but at some point, the offense will need to start faster to relieve pressure on the defensive unit, just as they did earlier in the season.
With seven regular-season games remaining, here’s a ranking of Texas A&M’s opponents from easiest to most challenging, based on current performance and momentum:
7. Texas A&M vs. Samford - Week 11
2025 record: 0-6
Analysis: Nothing new here. Samford remains winless, and there’s little to note beyond the expectation that the Aggies will dominate from start to finish.
6. Texas A&M at Arkansas - Week 7
2025 record: 2-3
Analysis: It’s unclear what this team will look like in a few weeks, but quarterback Taylen Green is undeniably gifted. Defensive breakdowns have plagued the Razorbacks. With Pittman gone and Petrino overhauling the program, Arkansas remains competitive but clouded by uncertainty
5. Texas A&M vs. South Carolina - Week 10
2025 record: 3-2
Analysis: South Carolina has dropped games to two top-25 opponents and remains a capable threat. Their week-to-week consistency will determine whether they pose a greater challenge than those ranked below.
4. Texas A&M vs. Florida - Week 6
2025 record: 2-3
Analysis: Florida looked exactly as expected in their win over Texas on Saturday. They didn’t resemble world-beaters, but they played like a team worthy of SEC top-tier consideration. Will that level of play hold? Hard to say, but the matchup against A&M will be revealing.

3. Texas A&M at Texas - Week 12
2025 record: 3-2
Analysis: Texas struggled mightily against Florida. The offense couldn’t establish the run or give Arch Manning enough time to find clean passing lanes. Outside of that game, the Longhorn defense remains stacked with talent, and I don’t expect another off-performance—unless the team has mentally checked out.

2. Texas A&M at Missouri - Week 9
2025 record: 5-0
Analysis: Missouri remains undefeated and faces a pivotal test against Alabama. They’ve shown defensive grit and offensive explosiveness, though their strength of schedule is questionable. South Carolina was their most formidable opponent so far, and they secured a solid 29-20 win. This weekend’s clash will be a litmus test for the Tigers’ legitimacy.
1. Texas A&M at LSU - Week 8
2025 record: 4-1
Analysis: Six weeks in, LSU’s offense looks shaky, especially in the run game. Their 24-19 loss to Ole Miss exposed lingering issues. They can’t seem to generate ground yardage, and Garrett Nussmeier, once a Heisman frontrunner, is no longer even in the conversation. However, LSU still has history on its side, and A&M hasn’t won a football game in Death Valley in quite some time.
