Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

The Baltimore Ravens, who have been utterly gashed by injuries, now see their season slipping away after the 44-10 beatdown at the hands of the Houston Texans.

Now at 1-4 on the year, with the margin for error now nearly gone if playoffs are to be achieved, Lamar Jackson's return can't come quickly enough. However, the defense is giving up a whopping 35.4 points per game (ranks last), which is where most of the problems are.

With another blowout defeat, and a bad one at that, on the resume this season, for CBS Sports' Pete Prisco, in his latest power rankings, the Ravens fall all the way down to No. 22, with their ability to compete being questioned.

"Who is this team? The big, bad bullies are getting bullied on a weekly basis," Prisco writes. "Even with all the injuries, don't they have to at least compete?"

Ravens need to show trademark fight

One thing we have become accustomed to over the years is Baltimore being a hard-nosed, tough, brutally physical football team...that's gone away in 2025.

Now, that doesn't mean it can't come back, but this team feels like it's drowning on the injury front on both sides of the ball. The defense has given up at least 37 points in each of the last three games, while the offense, even with Lamar, was struggling to get things rolling at times.

Head coach John Harbaugh stated he is looking for people to come out fighting, but at 1-4 and with injuries mounting, how much fight does this team have?

We're about to find out.
