AUGUSTA, GA (WJBF)- In GHSA volleyball, ARC and Lakeside, two of the best volleyball teams in the CSRA squared off at ARC High School.
It was also a breast cancer awareness game, with both teams sporting pink in their hair and jerseys. The ARC Musketeers with 30 wins heading into this match, not to mention they are the number one 3A team in the state, while the Panthers have 26 wins overall. ARC and Lakeside took one set a piece, and then it’s ARC that put the match away in the third set.
The Musketeers beat Lakeside 2-1 for the second time this season, they stay perfect in their region, are now the 3A region champions.
“It was definitely a big accomplishment on the seniors, we always make a rules list and a goals list,” said senior setter Harper Beckham.
“Beating lakeside and winning region was also on our goals list, so two big check marks going on the board tonight. I’m really excited, we’ve worked really hard and have put in a lot of hours and this team has such great chemistry, and I knew we were capable of it so it’s really exciting to see it all come together.”
Up next, the Musketeers celebrate senior day on Thursday against Davidson Fine Arts.
