On Wednesday, Cameroon will be looking to reaffirm their historical superiority over Mauritius in the match counting for the 9th round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Trailing Cape Verde by 4 points in Group D, the β€œIndomitable Lions” must secure a win on the road to keep their World Cup 2026 qualification hopes alive.

Historically, the five-time African champions have cruised past Mauritius in all five of their previous encounters. Their last face-off dates back to November 2023, when Cameroon clinched a 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Bryan Mbeumo, Georges-KΓ©vin N'Koudou, and Frank Magri.

Barring a major upset, Marc Brys’s squad shouldn't face too many obstacles as they chase a sixth consecutive win over Mauritius.

In the other Group D clash, Cape Verde will host Libya. A win for the islanders would mean historic qualification for the 2026 World Cup, putting extra pressure on Cameroon to lock down second place and secure a spot in the playoffs.
