It is time once again for you, the readers, to tell us who you think is this week’s ModForce Home Solutions Lenawee County Football Player of the Week.
In order to make things fair for all sports, for the rest of the year we are going to run two different polls, one for the sport of football and one for the rest of the sports combined.
These polls will be like any of the other polls; you are able to vote as much as you want as often as you want until the poll closes on Friday. So, let us know who you believe is the best on the gridiron from this past week with a vote in this week’s ModForce Home Solutions Football Player of the Week.
Nominees -
AJ Murdico, Sand Creek High School, RB/LB – Murdico battled hard but could not keep his teammates in the game as Maple Valley slowly pulled away. Murdico did finish with 12 carries for 113 yards and a touchdown (57 yards). Murdico also had a perfect passing night, completing 1 for 1 with 63 yards and a touchdown.
Cayden Allshouse, Britton Deerfield Football, Ath. – Allshouse was a monster for Britton Deerfield this past weekend, stuffing the stat sheet in more than one category. Allshouse led all rushers, carrying the ball 12 times for 224 yards and three touchdowns, including runs of 18-yards, 74 yards, and 41 yards. Allshouse also completed 1 of 1 passes for 30 yards. Allshouse also had four tackles in the big win.
Gradyn Whelan, Clinton High School, RB/LB/DB – Whelan was a key piece to the Red wolves attack all night long, both on the ground and through the air. Whelan finished the night with a respectable 5 of 6 passing for 131 yards and three touchdowns through the air while adding 4 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown.
Luke Bruggeman, Adrian High School Football, RB – Bruggeman had the game of games for Adrian football on Friday, leading his Maples team on the ground with 31 carries for 189 yards and two touchdowns. Bruggeman broke out runs of 21-yards and 24-yards to help lead Adrian to victory.
Talan Kruse, RB, RB/DB, Morenci – Kruse put up video game numbers Friday versus Lenawee Chistian. Kruse rushed the ball 27 times for an eye popping 245 yards and a touchdown while also adding 6 catches in the air for 67 yards and a touchdown.
So, there you go folks, this week’s nominees for the ModForce Home Solutions Football players of the month. Voting begins Monday evening at 6 p.m. and will run through Thursday at 3 p.m.
