After the NFL OnePass app caused major delays for Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns fans to get into Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this past Sunday, Ticketmaster has looked to make amends, but the compensation is sad.

In Week 5, the Vikings and Browns continued this year’s series of games in London, England. However, many fans attending the event to support the American teams had trouble getting inside the venue. For those using the NFL OnePass app, issues with the service meant fans could not get access to their tickets during game time.

Obviously, those folks who paid for the expensive tickets were not happy with the app “powered by Ticketmaster.” To quiet the lingering outrage, the ticket giant looked to make those fans whole again after the annoying delay. However, their attempt at making amends was weak.

According to the Associated Press, along with an apology, Ticketmaster has offered a refund for Sunday’s “ticketing issue.” However, the refund is only for credit with the company, and is just 50%. “The experience fell short of our standards and the service we aim to deliver on behalf of the NFL,” Ticketmaster said in an email to fans, which was released by the NFL.

Ticketmaster will keep all the money it got from Vikings and Browns fans

In a follow-up email, the company explained that the credit can be used toward this Sunday’s game at Tottenham between the Denver Broncos and New York Jets. Or “it will be converted into a Ticketmaster gift card” that can be used for any future events under the company’s umbrella.

If Ticketmaster didn’t want to give Vikings or Browns fans a full refund, then fine. They didn’t miss half of the game. However, for a company that reportedly earned $3 billion in revenue last year, would it have hurt to give fans a cash refund to use however they please?

Instead, they gave them a credit that means they still keep all the money they originally got despite the app they oversaw failing at the worst possible time.
