Missouri football posted its first availability report of the week before facing Alabama. Here is the status of left tackle Cayden Green and others.
As expected, Missouri football left tackle Cayden Green has opened the week leading into the Tigers’ matchup with Alabama with a ‘questionable’ tag on the first pregame SEC-mandated availability report, which was published Wednesday evening.
On Tuesday, during his weekly press conference, MU coach Eli Drinkwitz said Green had taken some rehab reps but was likely to appear on the conference-mandated availability report as ‘questionable.’
“Really,” Drinkwitz added, “the challenge will be to see where he is (during Tuesday’s practice) and see how that progresses.”
Green has missed MU’s past two games against South Carolina and UMass. Jayven Richardson, who took the majority of the starting left tackle reps in the offseason for Missouri, has filled in at the position in Green’s absence.
The only other MU players with availability designations who had previously confirmed long-term or season-ending injuries are QB Sam Horn, kicker Blake Craig, and backup right guard Logan Reichert, who are each out.
Alabama has listed star wide receiver Ryan Williams as 'probable' for the game, and backup wideout Jaylen Mbakwe is listed as 'doubtful.' Four Crimson Tide players have officially been ruled out: linebackers Qua Russaw, Jah-Marien Latham, and Cayden Jones; and defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman.
The Tigers’ game against the Crimson Tide is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, on Faurot Field in Columbia, Missouri. The game will air on ABC.
The SEC-mandated reports are required of member organizations every night, beginning Wednesday, in the lead-up to an in-conference matchup, with the final report published 90 minutes before kickoff.
The possible designations, from most likely to play to least likely, are: available; probable; questionable; doubtful; out.
Missouri and Alabama will release follow-up availability reports on Thursday and Friday night, as well as one final report on Saturday before the game.

What is the availability report?
The SEC-mandated reports are not technically injury reports, which some teams — Mizzou often included — provided in years prior. Instead, they are lists that contain any players ruled unavailable or possibly unavailable for upcoming games. That could be for any number of reasons, including but not limited to injuries.
The reports are only mandated before in-conference matchups and are closely linked to the growing sports gambling market.
Inaccurate or late reports in football are subject to fines ranging from $25,000-$100,000.
