It is Week 7 of the high school football season.
Two-thirds of the way through the season, the playoff picture is starting to form for teams in the Holland area.
Here is a look at the Week 7 scouting reports.
Caledonia at West Ottawa
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10
WHERE: West Ottawa High School
RECORDS: West Ottawa 1-5 (1-3 OK Red), Caledonia 3-3 (1-3 OK Red)
LAST WEEK: West Ottawa lost 45-8 to East Kentwood; Caledonia beat Grand Haven 28-6
LAST MATCHUP: Caledonia won 42-27 in 2024
SERIES HISTORY: Caledonia leads 6-3
SCOUTING REPORT: Both teams are tied in the OK Red standings and have lost to three of the four powerhouses in the conference - and have both defeated Grand Haven. The Scots have been able to put a lot of points up against the non-powerhouse teams and so have the Panthers. It could come down to a key defensive stop or turnover.

Hopkins at Holland
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10
WHERE: Hope College's Ray & Sue Smith Stadium
RECORDS: Holland 2-4 (0-3 OK Silver), Hopkins 3-3 (1-3 OK Silver)
LAST WEEK: Holland lost 49-19 to Wyoming Godwin Heights, Hopkins beat Comstock Park 47-20

SERIES HISTORY: Hopkins leads 1-0
SCOUTING REPORT: The Dutch have made a ton of great plays on offense and racked up yards and scores. But the defense has struggled to stop opponents. Getting pressure on the Hopkins quarterback and getting into the backfield will be key for Holland.

Grand Rapids Catholic Central at Holland Christian
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10
WHERE: Holland Christian High School

LAST WEEK: Holland Christian lost 41-21 to East Grand Rapids, Catholic Central beat Ottawa Hills 58-0

SCOUTING REPORT: The Maroons have played extremely well on offense all season, but the defense has been a struggle at times - especially with top linebacker Cole Meiste out for the season. The defense will have to be at its best for a chance at the upset.

Zeeland East at South Christian
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10
WHERE: South Christian

LAST WEEK: Zeeland East beat Wyoming 44-12, South Christian beat Forest Hills Central 43-36

SCOUTING REPORT: After two tough losses to state powerhouses, the Chix got back on track with a sharp offensive performance against the Wolves. The Chix will need to keep that offensive pace going against South Christian.

SCOUTING REPORT: This has been one of the top matchups in West Michigan the past few years, but both teams are not quite the same as their state championship teams in the past two years.

Hamilton at Grand Rapids Christian

WHERE: Grand Rapids Christian High School

LAST WEEK: Hamilton beat Forest Hills Eastern 27-14, Grand Rapids Christian lost 51-14 to West Catholic

SCOUTING REPORT: The Hawkeyes are coming off of their biggest win of the season and will look to build on that momentum. They have to win out to have a shot at the playoffs and this game will be pivotal.

Schoolcraft at Saugatuck
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10
WHERE: Saugatuck High School
RECORDS: Saugatuck 2-4 (0-3 SAC Valley), Schoolcraft 5-1, 3-0 SAC Valley)
LAST WEEK: Saugatuck lost 42-10 to Galesburg-Augusta, Schoolcraft beat Lawton 18-14
LAST MATCHUP: Schoolcraft won 56-7 in 2024
SERIES HISTORY: Schoolcraft leads 7-1
SCOUTING REPORT: Schoolcraft's lone win has been to Unity Christian, one of the top teams in Division 4. There is a reason the Eagles are the favorites to win the SAC Valley again. Saugatuck ahs struggled and will look to put things together for an upset.

Calvin Christian at Fennville
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10
WHERE: Fennville High School

LAST WEEK: Fennville lost 58-22 to Our Lady of the Lake, Calvin Christian beat Bloomingdale 33-0

SCOUTING REPORT: The Squires have defeated teams that have defeated Fennville and are on a three-game win streak. Fennville's defense will have to get some turnovers to aim for an upset in this one.
