5 Delaware bars/restaurants to watch the Phillies and Eagles tonight

With two big games tonight ‒ Phillies vs. Dodgers and Eagles vs. Giants ‒ it should be a good bar night. Here are the best spots in Delaware.

With the two big games playing back-to-back tonight ‒ Philadelphia Phillies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the National League Divisonal Series at 6:08 and Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants on Thursday Night Football at 8:15 p.m. ‒ it should be a good night for bars. Here are our picks for 5 places to watch the games.

Roost Pub & Kitchen

The bar at Roost Pub & Kitchen in downtown Wilmington, across from The Grand, has plenty of TVs for watching sports. The new dining spot opens June 10, 2025. It's owned by the Bardea Restaurant Group.

This casual, downtown Wilmington newcomer at 829 N. Market St. is quickly developing into a popular gathering spot for drinks, nosh, and cheering on sports teams, especially those in Philadelphia. The owners are all big fans of the Eagles and Phillies. The restaurant has numerous TVs. A pregame Eagles party begins at 6 p.m. with music, beer pong, and corn hole. Patrons can enter a chance to win tickets to the Oct. 26 Eagles home game. There are also various specials (get Peroni on draft and you can keep the glass). Be sure to order the cheesesteak bao buns ($15) with Cooper Sharp cheese, one of the tastiest snacks on the menu. Boneless, bone-in or chicken tenders are $12 tonight. Go Birds!

Grotto Pizza

From left, Philadelphia Eagles fans Wanda Paris, Jennifer Sult, Nicole Ottaviano and Stephanie Napier hug in celebration of a touchdown during a watch party for the Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl LVII game at Grotto Pizza in Wilmington, Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023.

Many of Grotto's 17 Delaware locations are good to visit to cheer on teams, but its sports bars in Dover, Camden, Middletown, Lewes and Wilmington's Pennsylvania Avenue could be particularly lively tonight. There's nothing like a pitcher of beer and pie to keep fans satiated, but individual Grotto locations also offer a variety of "Game Day" deals. They can include Philly pretzel bites, stadium hot dogs, Italian sausage rolls, and Nashville hot chicken nachos. (Some specials might not be available at all locations. Go to the website and click on the restaurant you plan to visit to see the specials.)

Stanley's Tavern

Former Philadelphia Eagles star Bill Bergey, left, presents Ken Filer of Wilmington with a cooler he won with a raffle ticket at Stanley's Tavern at halftime of the Super Bowl in 2018.

When it comes to watching the Philadelphia Eagles or Philadelphia Phillies at a bar, it doesn't more old-school Delaware than Stanley's Tavern. It has long hung a banner that reads: You're in Eagles Country. For years, the late Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Bill Bergey hosted Stanley's Monday Night Football parties. The historic Brandywine Hundred sports bar and restaurant at  2038 Foulk Road was sold in 2024 to the Ashby Hospitality Group, whose Newark bar the Deer Park Tavern was named a 2024 USA TODAY Bar of the Year. In addition to the Deer Park, the group runs four McGlynn restaurants in Pike Creek, Bear, Dover and Greenville and Cantwell's Tavern in Odessa (which could also be good viewing spots.)

Trolley Tap House

The Trolley Square bar at 1616 Delaware Ave. has a number of specials offered during the Phillies playoff games. Pitchers of Miller Lite or Yuengling are $6, mix-and-match buckets of beer are 5 for $35, and craft beer pints are $5. Stress eating? (The Phils NEED to win tonight.) Try the fried pickles, pretzel nuggets, teriyaki shrimp taco or the Buffalo chicken sliders.

Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant

While the O's and the Ravens have a stronghold on parts of Sussex County, there are still plenty of Phillies and Eagles fans. Just go to Irish Eyes at 213 Anglers Road in Lewes when the teams are playing and you'll see Birds and Fightin' fans wearing their colors and cheering their teams. "Eyes" has a special Game Day menu that includes raw oysters and steamed mussels, shrimp and clams. (Hey, you're a resort town!) There also are chili cheese fries, "loaded" tots, chicken wings, chili, soft pretzels, a variety of hot dogs and cheesesteaks. Drink specials can include $4 bottles and cans of beer and orange, lemon or grapefruit crushes for $7.50.
