Barcelona have officially launched new season tickets for matches to be played at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys and at Spotify Camp Nou.
However, it comes with a shocking 34% price hike, even though there will be five fewer games.
The Catalan giants recently confirmed that they will remain at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys for longer than expected, as they work on getting the necessary clearance to reopen Camp Nou.
The new tickets will cover the remainder of the season, and also give holders a pass to the renovated Camp Nou when it’s eventually reopened.
But there’s a huge difference in prices compared to last season. It has increased by between 10% and 34% despite offering five fewer games.
That means fans will be charged between €420 and €1,092 to watch Hansi Flick’s side live in action, depending on which seats they choose. Last year, they only had to pay between €372 to €898.
Barca believes that the hike is necessary to balance their books.
They’re losing money every time they host a game at Estadi Olimpic, but the price increase will also prepare them for their return to Camp Nou.
Unlike last season, when there were separate processes for Montjuic and Camp Nou, this time the club has made sure that one system handles the entire ticket sales.
Season ticket holders were asked to choose between the first and second tiers, although the higher tiers were priced as premium seating.
The cheapest seat available is Goal 1 in the first tier. It now costs €420, up 13% from last year. The most expensive option, Stand 2 in the second tier, will set fans back €1,092, up 22%.
However, the biggest price hike comes from Side 2 seats, which have jumped 34% from €516 last season to a whopping €693. The lowest increase is for Stand 1 seats, which are now €987, up 10%.
The prices will cover Barca’s remaining home fixtures this season, except for five games.
Two have already been played at Montjuic, two were hosted at the Johann Cruyff Stadium, and another Champions League game, which was sold separately.
