Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of head coach Nasreddine Nabi via mutual agreement.

The Tunisian mentor had been under suspension following the Betway Premiership defeat to Sekhukhune United last month.

While reports circulated the Soweto giants suspended Nabi due to a lack of qualifications to sit on the bench for CAF games - insiders rejected the notion.

The former Young Africans boss reportedly cited a lack of support from the Chiefs hierarchy despite immense backing in the transfer market, which is believed to have further strained the working relationship.

Meanwhile, Nabi is also said to be keen on taking a sabbath to take care of his wife who was recently involved in a car accident back in Tunisia.

The 59-year-old tactician was appointed at the beginning of last season and ended Chiefs' decade-long trophy drought with a Nedbank Cup triumph at the expense of fierce rivals Orlando Pirates.

Now, Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef, who both touched down in South Africa with Nabi, will steer the ship for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign.
