Adi Hutter has been sacked as manager of AS Monaco. The Austrian spent two full seasons at the Principality club, leading them to back-to-back UEFA Champions League qualifications. He leaves Les Monégasques fifth in Ligue 1, three points behind current leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

Hutter was the first managerial appointment of the Thiago Scuro era at Monaco back in the summer of 2023. In his first season, he led the club to a second-place finish in Ligue 1. Juggling Champions League football last season, he then led them to a third-place finish last season.

However, by Hutter’s own admission, performances have been below expectations this season, even if the club have secured some good results, notably against RC Strasbourg Alsace. Last weekend’s 2-2 draw against OGC Nice proved to be the final straw for the Austrian, who is replaced on the touchline by Sébastien Pocognoli.

Hutter is the longest-serving manager at Monaco since Leonardo Jardim, who led the Principality club to the title back in 2017.
