What they said
Crestview Head Coach Scott Haverdill on the Cougars’ mindset : “Tip your hats to Western. They wanted this game and our guys just played flat, and that’s on me. We should not be happy, but the sun will come up tomorrow. We have a good Monroeville team coming next week, so we have to have a good week of practice.”
Haverdill on the challenges Hayden Keith caused while returning as QB for Western Reserve: “We had an idea he was going to be back, so we prepared for it. Both of their quarterbacks do a great job. He’s more of a hard-nosed runner but they both throw the ball well.”
What is next?
Western Reserve improves to 6-2, Crestview falls to 5-3. Monroeville is now the lone undefeated team in Firelands play, with these two teams now tied for second with one Firelands loss behind them. Crestview will turn its attention to Monroeville for senior night, and a chance to tie for the conference championship. Western Reserve travels to Plymouth nest week.
