Along with getting his jersey retired by his college alma mater Wyoming, announced for the Cowboys’ regular season home finale against Nevada on Nov. 22, Josh Allen received the honor of having his high school’s field named after him as well.

On Friday night, Firebaugh High School (Calif.) honored Allen, an alum of the Eagles, playing their first-ever game on the field now known as ‘Josh Allen Field.’ Firebaugh dominated the contest on Friday night, defeating Tranquillity, 35-3.

Josh Allen himself could not be present for the festivities of the game due to preparations for the Buffalo Bills’ Monday night contest against the Atlanta Falcons, but his parents, Lavonne and Joel, were both on hand watching on.

“He wishes in the worst way that he could be here, but he’s in his season right now,” Josh Allen’s mother, Lavonne, said via a FOX 26 News report. “We’re here representing him, and we could not be more honored. I’m sure we’ll call him right after and give him all the low-down. We sometimes forget who he is and what he is to everybody else. He’s still our son.”

“Surreal,” Joel Allen said via the report. “Unbelievable. I went to high school here back in 1982, and for it to come around full-circle is a dream come true. Josh has blessed everyone in this community with his talents, and we’re here to enjoy it.”

Allen played for Wyoming Cowboys from 2015-2017 was selected by the Buffalo Bills with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Last season, Allen ended up winning the prestigious honor of NFL’s Most Valuable Player, playing in 17 games, he threw for 3,731 yards, 28 touchdowns and also added 531 yards on the ground and 12 scores.
