Despite an illness, Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase is expected to play in the team's NFL Week 6 game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, according to a report late Oct. 11 via Twitter/X from ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Chase is listed as questionable on the team's injury report.
Joe Flacco, acquired Oct. 7 in a trade with the Cleveland Browns, is making his first start at QB for the Bengals. Flacco replaced Jake Browning, who started the previous three games.
Chase referred to Flacco earlier in the week as "one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play."
In March, Chase signed a four-year contract extension with the Bengals worth $161 million. Chase was named a Pro Bowler in 2024 for the fourth time in his four NFL seasons.
In 2024, Chase won the receiving triple crown as the regular-season league leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. It was the NFL's fifth receiving triple crown since 1970.
In his first four seasons with the Bengals, Chase played in 62 games, making 61 starts.
In 2024, Chase had a Bengals' single-season record 127 catches, tied for ninth in NFL history. He had a Bengals' single-season record 1,708 receiving yards. His 17th TD catch tied Carl Pickens' franchise single-season record.
