The Fighting Illini had the top ranked Ohio State Buckeyes on their field looking for a historic upset. Instead Illinois got their second loss of the season, 34-16 to the #1 Buckeyes. Ohio State built a 20-0 lead in the first half and were really never threatened. Three Illini turnovers didn’t help their cause. Luke Altmyer three his first interception of the season and two Illinois fumbles lost added to their frustrating day. Ohio State got two touchdown runs from C.J. Donaldson to pace their offense. OSU improves to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in Big Ten play. The Illini are now 5-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
