Auburn quarterback Jackson Arnold reached the ball over the pile on a quarterback sneak, but Georgia linebackers CJ Allen and Raylen Wilson swiped at the ball and forced a fumble. Georgia recovered the highly disputed fumble and avoided facing a 17-0 deficit.

Bulldogs quarterback Gunner Stockton showed toughness as he led Georgia on a long drive to cut into Auburn's lead before the half. Georgia went on to outscore Auburn 17-0 in the second half. The momentum of the Georgia-Auburn game turned almost entirely in a single play.
