Midfielder Piotr Zielinski was linked with a departure Inter Milan during the summer transfer window. However, in the end, the Polish international remained a Nerazzurri player.
Zielinski only just joined Inter last summer. He arrived on a free transfer from Napoli.
However, the 31-year-old had an underwhelming first season at the club. He was unable to live up to his massive reputation in Serie A, with injuries playing a role.

Piotr Zielinski has made a few appearances for Inter at the start of the current season.
The former Napoli and Empoli midfielder has had a chance to stake his claim under coach Cristian Chivu, having never figured prominently under Simone Inzaghi.
Zielinski made his first start of the campaign for Inter in a Champions League win over Slavia Prague.
Nevertheless, it is not as though Zielinski has suddenly risen rapidly up the pecking order.
There is fierce competition for places in the Nerazzurri midfielder. Nicolo Barella, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Hakan Calhanoglu remain stalwarts.
Meanwhile, Davide Frattesi will be pushing hard for more opportunities this season.
Then, Petar Sucic has already made several starts following his summer arrival. And big money signing Andy Diouf will certainly be hoping to gain more playing time as the season goes on.
Therefore, the Corriere dello Sport report, Zielinski is still a player who Inter would be willing to part ways with.
Possibly even as early as during the January transfer window.
According to the Corriere, Zielinski’s high €4.5 million net per season wages are a major reason for Inter being willing to offload the Polish international in midseason.
However, at the same time, Zielinski’s wages would be one of the major obstacles to any other clubs taking the bait.
If Inter do find a new club for Zielinski in January, however, the Corriere report that Inter would be ready to sign a new midfielder to replace the Pole.
