As the fall sports postseason inches closer, athletes throughout the Eugene-Springfield area have continued to deliver outstanding performances.
This week's nominees for The Register-Guard girls Athlete of the Week are:

Zuzi Alwineyan, Willamette football
Willamette junior running back Zuzi Alwineyan ran for 111 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries and caught three passes for 63 yards Oct. 10 to help the Wolverines to a 42-22 home win over North Medford.
Carson Buergey, Thurston cross-country
Thurston senior Carson Buergey ran a personal-best 5,000-meter time of 15 minutes, 7.51 seconds Oct. 10 and took fifth place at the 5th Annual Rose City Championship Invite.
Bentlee Davenport, Thurston football
Thurston sophomore cornerback Bentlee Davenport grabbed three interceptions, including a pick-six, to help the Class 5A No. 7 Colts to a 44-7 home win over Crater on Oct. 10.
Adam Hernandez, Springfield football
Springfield junior receiver Adam Hernandez caught two touchdown passes and also ran for a score Oct. 10 to lead the Millers to a 35-0 win over South Eugene.
Mikey Johnson, Churchill football
Churchill senior receiver Mikey Johnson caught a 65-yard touchdown pass and helped the Lancers' defense to a strong team performance Oct. 10 in a 36-6 win at North Eugene.
Jacob Neely, Pleasant Hill football
Pleasant Hill senior receiver Jacob Neely caught two touchdown passes and also ran for two touchdowns Oct. 10 to lead the Billies to a 52-0 road win over La Pine.
Khalil Sabzalian, South Eugene cross-country
South Eugene sophomore Khalil Sabzalian ran a personal-best 5,000-meter time of 15:38.58 Oct. 10 at the 5th Annual Rose City Championship Invite.
Sabzalian's time is the fourth-fastest this season among Southwest Conference boys.
Hunter Vaughn, Willamette football
Willamette senior receiver Hunter Vaughn caught seven passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns, including a 96-yard score, Oct. 10 to help the Wolverines to a 42-22 home win over North Medford.
Vaughn also ran for 23 yards on two carries.
Lucas White, Sheldon cross-country
Sheldon senior Lucas White ran a personal-best 5,000-meter time of 15:53.2 Oct. 10 at the 5th Annual Rose City Championship Invite.
White's time is the fifth-fastest this season among Southwest Conference boys.
