Speaking to Téléfoot this Sunday, Kylian Mbappé compared his former captains at both club and international level.
Kylian Mbappé, captain of the French national team, has left the Les Bleus training camp and will not take part in Monday's match against Iceland. While Didier Deschamps has chosen Maignan as captain in Mbappé's absence, the Real Madrid striker still found time to discuss the captaincy during his interview with Téléfoot. He spoke about several captains he has played under throughout his career.
"I played with Sergio Ramos, who is truly a captain at heart—not just on the pitch, but in life, in the dressing room... He’s always there to help others. And besides, he wasn’t even captain in Paris. I think he was born to be a captain. Then, I had Marquinhos at PSG. Marqui was always joking around, someone who really absorbed the club’s DNA and perfectly represents it. I had Hugo (Lloris) with the French team for quite a few years. He was different, but just as much of a unifier." he said.
« Le rôle de capitaine m’a permis de m’ouvrir plus aux autres. »
