Kayshon Boutte and the New England Patriots went down to New Orleans in Week 6 and took down the Saints. The Patriots have now won three games in a row and are firmly in place to contend in 2025.
Boutte was a huge part of the team’s win. The LSU product had his best game of the season, catching five passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns. Overal, the Patriots gained 333 total yards of offense and escaped with a 25-19 win.
After the game, Boutte was asked about his bond with left tackle Will Campbell. Boutte and Campbell both grew up in Louisiana and played college football at LSU. This was both mean’s first return to Louisiana as NFL players.
“We played together when I was [at LSU] so we already kinda had that bond,” Boutte explained, referring to Campbell. “Even throughout last year, he was texting me telling me, ‘Please draft me here.’ He wanted to be here… Great guy, great energy. I love him.”
The Patriots drafted Campbell in the first round of the 2025 draft. Campbell was one of the best tackles in college football and has immediately slotted in as a reliable starter for the Patriots.
Boutte, meanwhile, was selected by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2023 draft. The LSU product didn’t make much of an impact as a rookie, but he took a big step forward in 2024. Last season, Boutte caught 43 passes for 589 yards and three touchdowns.
In 2025, though, Boutte seems to have taken another step forward. The receiver has already matched his touchdown total from a year ago, and is turning into one of Drake Maye’s favorite targets.
Now, Boutte, Campbell, and the rest of the Patriots will travel to Nashville in Week 7 to take on the Tennessee Titans. While Week 6 was a homecoming for Boutte and Campbell, Week 7 will be a homecoming for head coach Mike Vrabel, who returns to face the team that fired him.
