SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) – The Sacramento Kings have played half of their preseason games. They lost both, to Toronto and to Portland, and they are 0-2.
On Sunday, they suffered another loss: Keegan Murray, who will miss 4-6 weeks with a thumb injury that occurred in Friday’s loss to the Trail Blazers.
“You just gotta deal with it. Feel sorry for him, obviously, all the work that he’s put in,” said head coach Doug Christie. “But he’ll be fine. He’ll be able to work out and do things, it’s just obviously he can’t use his hand. So, unfortunate. Send him a love of love and get well soon.”
Murray, one of the team’s starting forwards, had an MRI that revealed a torn ligament. He does need surgery.
“We gotta figure it out. That’s the thing about this league, you gotta…be prepared for whatever is to come,” said Kings forward DeMar DeRozan. We’re already hit with an obstacle. Luckily, we got time to fix some things without him.”
The Kings return to the court on Wednesday at Golden 1 Center to host the Clippers in their third preseason game.
