Torquay United struggle to find a breakthrough in their 0-0 National League South draw with Dagenham and Redbridge.
Torquay United manager Paul Wotton says he is disappointed his side did not find a breakthrough in their 0-0 draw with Dagenham & Redbridge.
The Gulls came closest to breaking the deadlock in the second half when Cian Dillon fired into the side netting before Jordan Young's long-range effort hit the bar in the dying moments.
The draw keeps Torquay third in National League South - four points off leaders Hornchurch.
"There were a ton of positives," Wotton told BBC Radio Devon.
"That's five league games unbeaten now, three clean sheets on the trot, and I thought we defended fantastically today as a team.
"I'm just so disappointed we didn't have that little bit of magic or that moment of quality to get us the three points."
Wotton was particularly pleased with how his centre-backs Sam Dreyer and Jordan Dyer played against Dagenham's ex-England striker Andy Carroll.
The 36-year-old former Liverpool, West Ham and Newcastle forward returned to the Daggers line-up and was the focal point for their attack.
"I thought the two centre-halves were outstanding against a top, top player," Wotton added.
"I thought our back four was excellent and the two midfield boys in front as well.
"But he's a top player. You can see when [the ball] goes into him, it sticks, he doesn't give the ball away and fair play to him.
"But I've got to give Dyer and Dreyer credit, I thought they were fantastic."
