Jeeno Thitikul, the tour's first repeat winner of 2025, now has a chance to sweep the postseason accolades thanks to her incredible consistency.
Jeeno Thitikul's victory at the Buick LPGA Shanghai was about proving something to herself as much as anybody. After giving away the Kroger Queen City Championship last month with a nightmare four-putt on the 72nd hole, Thitikul rebounded in dramatic fashion in China.
KPMG Performance Insights report that Thitikul's closing 63 was the lowest final-round score of any LPGA winner this season. Her bogey-free weekend – where she missed only three greens – gave her a +12.47 strokes gained total over the last 36 holes of regulation.
After a strange season that produced 26 different winners, the tour's first repeat winner of 2025 now has a chance to sweep the postseason accolades thanks to her incredible consistency.
While 22-year-old Thitikul's four runner-up finishes this season are a big part of the story, her six career titles since 2022 trails only Nelly Korda (8) and Lydia Ko (7) in that time span.
Here's what's at stake for Thitikul as the season winds down:
Rolex Player of the Year
Thitikul increased her advantage over Minjee Lee in the points race after the victory in China. Players receive points for top-10 finishes only, and Thitikul has a dozen top 10s in 18 starts this season. She now has a 40-point lead over Lee, who won a major in 2025.
Vare Trophy
Thitikul currently has the only sub-69 scoring average on tour at 68.95. Minjee Lee's average of 69.97 is 0.72 strokes behind. Thitikul won the Vare Trophy in 2023. She would've won it in 2024 as well, but she didn't meet the minimum number of required rounds.
Like the Player of the Year, winning the Vare Trophy also comes with a Hall of Fame point.
Aon Risk Reward Challenge
Thitikul won the Aon last year too, taking home the $1 million bonus. She's back on top again, with Jennifer Kupcho and Minjee Lee in second and third, respectively. Thitikul won the Aon right before she clinched the 2024 CME Group Tour Championship title, giving her $5 million in one week.
Money title
Thitikul currently sits in second on the LPGA money list, trailing Minjee Lee by $306,013. Thitikul has earned $3,470,095 this season, and while she's still young in her LPGA career, she's 19th on the LPGA career money list with $13,261,165 earned in only 82 starts.
For perspective, Annika Sorenstam is the tour's all-time leading money winner with $22,583,693 in 308 starts.
Race to CME Globe
Thitikul currently tops the Race to CME Globe points list, which is used to fill fields and determine a player's status for the following season. While the list is incredibly important for many reasons, the player who finishes on top gets a pat on the back and the title of "Race to the CME Globe Champion."
World No. 1
Thitikul began her second stint as No. 1 in the world after the AIG Women's British Open on Aug. 4. She's now been No. 1 for a total of 16 weeks. Thitikul joins Ai Miyazato as the only players in Rolex Rankings history to achieve the feat without also owning a major title.
