MANHATTAN (KSNT)- After a standout performance on Saturday, K-State’s Desmond Purnell was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.
The Topeka Native and Hayden High School graduate was an instrumental part in the Wildcats’ 41-28 win over TCU, doing a little bit of everything.
The senior linebacker had two interceptions including a pick-six in the second quarter. He would also record five tackles which included two tackles for loss and a sack.
Purnell and the Wildcats now have a bye week before the Sunflower Showdown against the Kansas Jayhawks on Oct. 25.
