Ursuline entered the match as a No. 31 seed and Hubbard No. 12 seed.
Hubbard advances to an overall record of 0-0. Ursuline ends the season 0-0.
The Eagles put up three goals in each half on the way to victory. Lucas Manzo and Trent Reinard each scored a pair of goals.
The Eagle’s Matteo Pulitano and Kason Fry also scored in the win.
“I had a [penalty kick] at the end of the game, gave it up for one of my friends, he’s a senior, never scored, so I gave it up for him,” said Hubbard senior player Trent Reinard. “I think just the positive energy of me and all of our other seniors pushing forward to help everyone score and make it fair is the greatest thing we have. It’s teamwork.”
Next, Hubbard will play against No. 26 Sheffield Brookside in the second round at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18. at Hubbard Memorial Field.
