Here are the nominees for The Sporting News Minnesota high school player of the year:

Hayden Swenson, International Falls: Swenson has thrown for almost 260 yards per game with 22 touchdowns in six games.

Blake Glenz, Eden Valley: Glenz has over two touchdown throws per game and over 1,000 yards, completing 62 percent of his passes.

Abram Bruggeman, Jefferson: With 959 yards and 10 touchdowns, Bruggeman has been dominating this year.

Julian Beckstrand, Barnum: Averaging over 11 yards per carry, Beckstrand has 920 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns.

Joseph Mapson, Andover: Mapson is getting it done on the ground, averaging over 104 yards per game with 18 touchdowns scored.

Brayden Becker, Eden Valley: Becker has hauled in 42 passes for 675 yards, scoring 13 touchdowns.

Sam McGill, Albert Lea: In seven games, McGill has recorded nine quarterback sacks.

Demarco Harris, Ashland: Harris has picked off five passes, racking up 105 yards on those interceptions.
