Several Real Madrid players faced fitness blows and suffered fatigue just before or during the ongoing international break.
As such, the situation threatens to deal serious damage to Los Blancos’ season as it places the availability of several key players in doubt for the clash against Getafe at the Coliseum Stadium.
The biggest news exploded yesterday when it came to light that Kylian Mbappe has decent chances of making it back in time to face Getafe despite suffering an ankle blow on duty with France. Concurrently, however, Dean Huijsen is close to ruled out.
A third player who suffered a setback in the hiatus is Franco Mastantuono who returned early from the Argentine camp and no update has clarified his situation yet.
Much-awaited news
As relayed by Alvaro Esteban (h/t Blancos Global) in a recent report, Mastantuono will undergo an examination under the Real Madrid doctors to clarify his situation and diagnose the extent of his injury and possible period out.

The journalist also furthers that the blow, as it stands, is not seen to be serious and that everything points to him being available against Getafe after the break.
While a clear picture will indeed be obtained only after the examination by the medical team, news of the player’s likely availability comes as a massive boost to Xabi Alonso’s plans as he prepares for one of Real Madrid’s most difficult away clashes of the season.
Should Mastantuono be fit to start, the youngster will play a crucial role in helping Los Blancos navigate through Getafe’s notorious low block which has become famous as a barrier difficult to breach in recent years.
After all, his dynamic play and vision from the right wing has been exceptional so far.
