Who should be the El Paso Children's Hospital High School Male Athlete of the Week for Oct. 7-11?
With the 2025-26 high school sports season ongoing, the El Paso Times will give readers a chance to vote to identify El Paso's top athletes.
This week, readers can vote for which El Paso Times' El Paso Children's Hospital high school male athlete had the best performance in football and cross country.
Here are this week's nominees:
- Kingston Jeffries, Eastwood football. He threw five TD passes vs. Franklin and ran for score in win.
- Luis Pereda, Austin cross country. He won the District 1-4A individual championship.
- Darian Hernandez, Hanks cross country. He won the District 2-5A individual title.
- Andrew Truax, El Paso High cross country. Truax won the District 1-5A individual title.
- Noah Loweree, Eastwood cross country. He won the District 1-6A individual title.
- Ivan Lopez, Del Valle football. In win vs. Hanks, Lopez caught two touchdown passes.
- Cesar Huerta, Canutillo football. In win vs. Jefferson, Huerta scored three rushing touchdowns and threw two touchdown passes.
- Jose Castillo, Horizon football. Castillo had 126 yards receiving and 38 yards rushing against Burges. He scored two touchdowns.
