Ja'Marr Chase knows Bengals' offense well, but has no interest in playing quarterback

Receiver Ja'Marr Chase was asked whether he thinks he could play quarterback, based on his familiarity with the Bengals' offense.

Among the topics Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase addressed with reporters Oct. 14 ahead of a Week 7 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Paycor Stadium on Amazon Prime Video's Thursday Night Football.

Chase was asked whether he thinks he could play QB, based on his familiarity with the offense.

"I mean I know it," Chase said. "I don't want to play quarterback. Let me say that. I don't want to play quarterback. But I can tell like guys like you're here, here, here and here. Yeah, I can do that. But I do not want to play quarterback, no."

How much is that familiarity a benefit to the team?

"Just in case Joe (Flacco) might call a play in backwards or wrong, maybe he might mess up, we correct him in the huddle," Chase said. "And that helps us know what we are doing and confidence within ourselves too."
