Pilar Sanders isn’t willing to let personal differences aside when it comes to her ex-husband, Colorado Buffaloes football coach Deion Sanders, to the point where she wouldn’t sit with him if it meant her son, Shedeur, could see the field for the Cleveland Browns.

Shilo Sanders caught the moment on his YouTube channel while in Pittsburgh for a Browns-Steelers game. The three were talking in a concourse area at Acrisure Stadium before the contest.

“What if Coach Stefanski said if you & Dad sit together for a whole game, then Shedeur can start? Would you do it?” Shilo asked Pilar.

“Honey, you’re never getting in,” Pilar replied.

Shedeur is currently behind Dillon Gabriel in Cleveland’s QB room. Gabriel hasn’t been able to change the Browns’ fortunes. Cleveland is 0-2 with a close 21-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London and a not-so-close 23-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Perhaps Pilar is a soothsayer, though not for the reason that she predicted Shedeur riding the pine. CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards projects the Browns to select South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback LaNorris Sellers at the 2026 NFL draft.

“The third quarterback off the board is potentially the one who has the most room for growth as a passer. LaNorris Sellers is a big-body quarterback who sheds arm tackles like wrapping paper on Christmas morning,” wrote Edwards.

The room for growth aspect of Sellers’ game leaves the door open for either Gabriel or Sanders to stick with the team. At this point, though, there’s no reason to think it would be Shedeur.

So Pilar may have nothing to worry about.
