England under-21 boss Lee Carsley believes Chelsea youngster Tyrique George has the attributes to develop into a number nine.
George scored the only goal of the game as England’s young lions beat their Andorra counter parts 1-0 on Monday.
The teenager is a product of Chelsea’s famed Cobham academy and was promoted to the first team squad under Enzo Maresca last season.
Lee Carsley thinks Tyrique George can become a number nine
Chelsea have had problems at centre forward this season after Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury at the end of August, which is set to sideline him until November.
Marc Guiu was recalled from Sunderland, but he only got his first minutes of the season in the win against Liverpool.

Maresca has instead opted to go with George as a centre forward, although has impact in the position has been limited.
George scored a brilliant goal against Lincoln in the Carabao Cup, but very much struggled when leading the line against Benfica in the Champions League.
However, speaking after the game Carsley stated he felt the 19-year-old had the attributes to develop into a number nine.
“He’s got the profile and attributes to develop into a traditional number nine,” he said as quoted on X.com.
“A lot of that development I would imagine will go on at Chelsea.
He’s fast. He scores goals. He’s creative. He’s got good technique.”
Chelsea youngster to leave in January?
Opportunities have been a few and far between for George this season and he’s made five appearances in all competitions.
George saw a move to Fulham collapse on deadline day despite a deal worth £22m being agreed, and it’s been reported it’s likely he could leave in January.

Given Delap is to return, and the Blues have both Joao Pedro and Guiu it’s difficult to see where George is getting many minutes outside of the early rounds of the domestic cups.
