According to a recent report from AS, it has come to light that Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is optimistic that Raphinha could recover in time for the El Clasico later this month.

The Brazilian winger is currently sidelined with a torn hamstring in his right leg, but club sources suggest there is still a chance he might make the squad for the high-profile clash at the Santiago Bernabeu on October 26.

It must be noted that the 2025/26 season has been challenging for Flick in terms of injuries.

As such, Dani Olmo was confirmed injured during the recent international break, followed by Robert Lewandowski with a torn hamstring, ruling both out for the El Clasico

Adding to these absences, goalkeeper Joan Garcia and midfielder Gavi are also unavailable.

These key injuries have complicated preparations for Barcelona ahead of one of the biggest fixtures in Spanish football.

Raphinha a doubt but not ruled out

The club had initially hoped Raphinha would recover in about three weeks, which would have been October 17, but recovery has taken slightly longer than expected.

As reported before, he is completely ruled out of Saturday’s match against Girona, and he will definitely miss the Champions League clash against Olympiacos at Montjuic on Tuesday.

Despite this, sources from the dressing room indicate that Raphinha still has a chance of being fit for the El Clasico.

Flick’s optimism stems from the winger’s progress in recovery and the club’s careful management of his rehabilitation.

If he does make it, Raphinha would be a significant boost for Barcelona, adding creativity and attacking threat against Real Madrid in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter.

For now, Barcelona must plan for multiple absences while hoping that Raphinha can recover in time.

His return could make a crucial difference in both the team’s strategy and morale ahead of one of the season’s most anticipated matches.
