Zionsville (Ind.) High 2028 tight end Theo Schott is picking up steam on the recruiting trail with Oregon recently offering.
The Ducks joined a group that already included Purdue, Illinois and Louisville. The Boilers offered after camp in the summer and the Illini and Cardinals during visits this fall.
A couple other prominent programs have the 6-foot-4, 210-pound Schott on the radar in Notre Dame and Georgia. Schott will be in South Bend this weekend to watch the Irish host USC.
“I’m really looking forward to getting out to Notre Dame this weekend,” Schott said. He is also a terrific student with a 4.0 GPA.
“I think the atmosphere will be awesome and I’m super excited to watch the rivalry game. Notre Dame is known for producing really good tight ends so it’s cool that I have the opportunity to get out there. I’ve never been on their campus before, so I’m super excited to see what it’s about and to learn more about their program.”
A Notre Dame offer would check a lot of boxes for Schott. So would one from Georgia. He’ll be down in Athens for the Texas game the weekend of Nov. 15.
“Georgia will be a great experience and a great game to watch. I’ve not been to an SEC school this year yet so that will be new to me. I’m hoping to meet the coaching staff and see what their culture is about and I think the trip down there will be fun.”
Oregon is on the radar for the weekend of Nov. 22 when they host the Trojans.
“This is really exciting because Oregon is a great program from top to bottom,” Schott said when offered. “The Ducks love to use their tight ends in the passing game and that stands out to me.
“The coaches were great dudes and I had an awesome conversation with them. “Oregon is definitely a great option to have and I’m very grateful to have the opportunity.”
