The Baltimore Ravens are in the midst of a season out of a nightmare. At 1-5, their playoff hopes are all but gone. While they'll be getting Lamar Jackson back after the bye week, the defense is so abysmal that it may not matter.
Because of this, Ravens fans have voiced their displeasure with head coach John Harbaugh, many of whom would like to see a change at head coach. And while they may have some fair qualms, ESPN's Dan Graziano doesn't see it happening.
"The 'Fire Harbaugh' chants at Baltimore's Week 6 game against the Rams are worth addressing," Graziano writes. "Anything is possible, of course, if a team continues to lose games it expected to win at a high rate. But at this point, I don't think John Harbaugh is in any danger of losing his job. And if he did, he'd instantly become the top head coaching candidate on the market this winter."
"In a league that keeps cycling through coordinators-turned-head-coaches, teams would jump at the chance to bring in a guy who has done the big job for 18 years and has won more than 60% of his games -- including 13 playoff games and a Super Bowl. Tough times in Baltimore right now, and the fans are going through it, but it's a smart, circumspect organization that knows how good it has it at the head coach spot."
All things considered, the Ravens have underachieved in the Lamar Jackson era, which has led to the growing frustration with Harbaugh. If the Ravens' season does completely torpedo into top five pick territory, though, it will be very interesting to see if the Ravens do decide to go in a different direction.
