Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Patrick Mabedi has joined Tanzanian giants Young Africans as part of Romain Folz's backroom staff.
The Malawian tactician has been unattached since being relieved of his duties as the Malawi national team head coach in October 2024.
Mabedi was recently linked with a coaching role at Chiefs - a team he lifted two league titles with in the 2003/04 and 2004/05 seasons.
He previously served as an assistant coach to Steve Komphela and Giovanni Solinas at Naturena, before taking up a similar role at Black Leopards.
Now, the 51-year-old UEFA Pro License holder is set for a new chapter in Dar es Salaam in a bid to help the champions pick up form.
Yanga have so far made two league outings under Folz, winning their opener and sharing the spoils with newly promoted Mbeya City in the other encounter.
The French mentor has already lifted his first piece of silverware at the helm, beating fierce rivals Simba SC in the community shield last month.
Folz will now switch his focus to the CAF Champions League second preliminary round clash against Silver Strikers of Malawi, with the first meeting set for Saturday, 18 October, while the return leg will take place in Tanzania a week later.
