Bubba Watson had surgery Wednesday on his finger and will be out for at least eight weeks.
Bubba Watson showed up on golf's version of an injured list late Wednesday. The two-time Masters champion posted on social media that he's officially out for the foreseeable future after undergoing minor surgery.
"I'm glad to know this is only a short-term setback," Watson wrote.
The 46-year-old Watson, who was a 12-time PGA Tour winner before departing to LIV Golf, expects to miss at least 8 weeks after undergoing a procedure on his left hand.
"In recent week," I developed a small growth on my left ring finger that has been causing me pain and affecting my ability to grip a golf club the way I want," explained Watson, who also posted a photo of his bandaged finger. "My doctors referred to it as a 'lesion' and recommended a minor procedure to have it removed, which I have done. Because of the location and depth of the cuts, which are around a joint, the procedure is expected to prevent me from playing golf for up to 8 weeks while I recover and rehab my finger."
He was slated to play this month in the Philippines and Hong Kong in two International Series events as part of the Asian Tour.
The captain of the RangeGoats is expected to be healed and ready to return from the IL for the start of the 2026 LIV Golf season in February, and the southpaw should have plenty of time to prep for another run at the Green Jacket in April. He finished T-14 at the Masters last year, which is the only major he's played in since 2022, the same year he joined LIV while recuperating from a torn meniscus. He later resigned as a Tour member, where his last victory came at the 2018 Travelers Championship.
