Charlton Athletic and Sheffield Wed. go head-to-head at The Valley this Saturday in the EFL Championship.

Sheffield Wed. have 6 points to their name this season and occupy 23rd position in the table. In their last encounter, Henrik Pedersen's team were beaten 0-5 by Coventry City (EFL Championship 2025/26).
The last meeting between the two teams ended with Sheffield Wed. winning 1-0.
The Fan Zone
Stuart Court(Cafc Facts and Stats): Back from another international break Charlton will hopefully be refreshed and good to go against Sheffield Wednesday side that they havent got the best of home records against
Only 2 wins from their last 10 home league games against the Owls but this is one they would be looking to get 3 points from, though the oppositions away form has not been bad so far
A narrow win for Charlton. 1-0 or 2-1
Prediction: 2-1
James Mappin(The WTID Podcast): The game this weekend will come as a welcome distraction for many with everything that is going on off the pitch. It was announced on Thursday that the club could be just days away from receiving a winding-up petition by the HMRC over an unpaid tax bill. Usually that news would be met with shock and anger, but as a fanbase we're seeing this as hopefully the beginning of the end for our owner Dejphon Chansiri.
On the game this weekend - we'll be looking to bounce back from the 5-0 hammering before the international break. We looked tired so the week off would have been welcomed by the players to rest and recover ahead of a another block of fixtures.
Ernie Weaver, the young centre back who stepped in this season, is out injured and is having to have surgery on a foot injury. That's a huge blow because he's been immense so far this season. The injuries are racking up and the squad is getting thinner week on week with no sign of players returning.
All that being said - our away form has been pretty good so far and this weekend should be no different. We don't mind giving up possession and catching teams out on the break. I hope George Brown gets another chance up top. He's got two goals so far this season but was rested against Birmingham and Coventry. He should be fit and raring to go against Charlton on Saturday.
Prediction: 1-1
