MIAMI, OK — The Grove Ridgerunners took care of business on the road, dominating the Miami Wardogs 36-13 on the campus of NEO A&M at Red Robertson Field.
The hosts set the tone on defense with an early first quarter sack by Donick Garfield. However, on the very next play, Grove quarterback Colby Watson dropped back in the pocket to deliver a 30-yard touchdown to Isaac Sheffield to open up the scoring, followed by a successful two-point conversion.
Miami responded on their next offensive possession with a 50-yard rush from Donick Garfield to set the Wardogs up in scoring position. Quarterback Blaise Riley finished off the play in the endzone to cut down their deficit 8-6.
The second quarter was where Grove gained a heavy advantage.
The Ridgerunners led 22-6 at the half, and continued to dominate, finishing off the game in a 36-13 victory.
Miami will look to bounce back next Friday, October 24th versus Cushing, while Grove will battle up with Wagoner in their next appearance.
