Game updates: Crestview vs. Garfield high school football

Crestview (8-0) will host LaBrae in week ten.

GARRETTSVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) – Crestview continues to control the MVAC Grey Tier showdown with Garfield as the game nears its conclusion.

Mikey Proctor sparked the Rebels’ offense early, racing for a 16-yard touchdown to open the scoring. Garfield’s Ryder Cain answered with a one-yard score, but Crestview stayed in front after a missed extra point, 7-6. Proctor added another touchdown in the second quarter, this time from five yards out, to put Crestview ahead 14-6 at halftime.

Crestview’s third quarter surge featured Proctor spinning into the end zone for his third touchdown, followed by quarterback Nick Noling’s eight-yard scoring run for a 28-6 lead. Noling then found Ethan King with an 11-yard touchdown pass, and the Rebels stretched their margin to 35-6.

Garfield answered before the third quarter ended, with Devin Bates sprinting for a 19-yard touchdown run to trim the deficit to 35-12.

In the fourth quarter, Garfield’s Colliin McGranahan threw a touchdown pass to Colton Miller, slicing Crestview’s lead to 35-20.

But Crestview responded with another big play, as Proctor broke away for a 50-yard touchdown run with 2:38 to play, restoring a 42-20 lead.

The Rebels entered tonight’s matchup undefeated at 8-0, aiming for revenge after last season’s narrow loss to Garfield.

Crestview (8-0) will host LaBrae in week ten.
